5 Talented Ranji Trophy Players Who Didn’t Get The Chance To Play For Team India

Cricket is not just a sport for some people. Cricket builds up careers and opens up new opportunities for people. India has a lot of good talents when it comes to cricket. Some of them got a scope and the platform to flourish and embrace their skills in cricket, but some didn’t.

Ranji Trophy game is one of the very famous games that happen on a domestic basis. And talented players from all over attend that game. Some of the cricketers who were successful made their way into international careers. Perhaps, some did not.

These are the 5 talented cricketers who failed to get into international cricketers after, Ranji Trophy:

1. Amol Muzumdar

Amol has a record of scoring a double century during his Ranji debut. He was one of the most talented batsmen the team ever had. But everything happened at a very wrong time and luck wasn’t on his side at that time. When he went to the ground to set his pace, Sachin was already on his mission of flying colors. Naturally, Sachin got way more opportunities and scope which made him left out.

Sourav Ganguly was the reporting Captain of the Indian team back then, and Amol managed to set his own record of hitting 11167 runs at an average of only 48.13. Not only that he also has a score of managing around 30 centuries and 60 astonishing half-centuries.

2. Padmakar Shivalkar

Back in 1960 Indian team had high hopes and set high expectations for Padmakar. He was practically the one to save the team when they were on a verge of losing. He used to play as a slow bowler for the team. His age was almost 50 when he retired from cricket. Used to play for Bombay and was one of the highest wicket-keeper on the team.

At just 24 years of playing for Bombay, he already has a score of 589 scalps, which is exceptionally rare and is a sign of a terrific player, which he is anyway.

3. Ranadeb Bose

One of the fastest bowlers the team ever had. Though it is extremely rare to see a fast bowler he kinda copied the way of Jason Gillespie back in the days, which made his playing style even more different from others.

When it comes to him stabilizing his career in this field, he did a great job proving himself in the domestic games. His wicket-taking number is currently at 317 first-class wickets amazing career techniques made him get 126 wickets. Though he was a fast bowler, India needed someone even better than him, thus his chance of flourishing died out before it even began.

4. Yere Goud

Yere had a very similar way of playing as Rahul Dravid. His debut was made for Karnataka and then it was switched to the railways. He attended and performed in a lot of games for the railways, and eventually returned to Karnataka back at it again. Not only that, he was made the captain of the Karnataka team for the year 2006. His score ranged at around 7650 runs from 134 matches, which sums up to an average of 45.53

Even though his high score ranged at a whopping 221, he still couldn’t make his way in the national team and play in the internationals.
