The internet world is brutal. People can be crueller on the internet because they have the power of anonymity and there are usually no consequences of trolling someone online. With the advent of social media, we have seen many times that people started trolling famous personalities on various social media platforms. The same happened with the Indian cricket team also.
When India and Pakistan meet on the cricket pitch, emotions are at an all-time high. Given the extreme social and political tensions between the two countries, the rivalry between the two neighbours has reached a new level, with just ICC events played between them.
As the Pakistan cricket team finally ended its losing streak against the Team India after suffering 12 consecutive losses to the Men in Blue in World Cup history by winning Sunday’s match which was played at Dubai International Stadium, Indian players were trolled on social media.
For their recent performance, every player is receiving hatred in the form of trolling on numerous social media sites. Shami, on the other hand, is a unique instance. He is being ridiculed not because he performed poorly, but because of his religious identity.
Mohammad Shami was dealt with brutal trolling for his inning after a poor performance for his side (0/43 in 3.5 overs). On Sunday, Shami had a terrible day, as Pakistan completed the 152-run chase in his over, with Mohammad Rizwan scattering Shami’s deliveries across the Dubai International Stadium.
Several Cricket personalities also speak up for Shami
Following a nasty troll attack on Muhammed Shami following India’s 10-wicket loss to Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday, plenty of celebrities took to social media to express their support for the bowler.
Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Irfan Pathan and Yuzvendra Chahal were among those who came out in favour of bowler Mohammad Shami.
The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and Anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob. With you Shami. Agle match mein dikado jalwa.

Even I was part of #IndvsPak battles on the field where we have lost but never been told to go to Pakistan! I’m talking about 🇮🇳 of few years back. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP. #Shami

Mohammed Shami has been a stellar performer for India for eight years, playing a significant role in many a victory. He can’t be defined by one performance. My best wishes are always with him. I urge fans & followers of the game to support @MdShami11 and the Indian team.

In the midst of all the awful and shameful trolling, an old video of Mohammad Shami has surfaced
In the video Shami, after losing to Pakistan in 2017, bravely confronted the arrogant Pakistani audience present in the stadium.
In the footage, the Indian team is seen walking up the stairs at Oval stadium, London while Pakistani fans taunt them with derogatory remarks.
While the players walked silently and returned to the dressing room, one Pakistani fan can be heard shouting sarcastically at the Indian squad “Baap Kaun Hai” in the video. Only Shami had the bravery to face the bullying of Pakistani fans. Shami turned around and took a couple of furious steps towards fans in an angrier way. MS Dhoni is also seen in the video attempting to calm down Shami’s anger.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are also visible in the video, but they do nothing while silently listening to their harsh remarks.
Those calling @mdshami11 a #gaddar after the #IndiaVsPak match, please watch this 2017 video, when after losing to Pakistan, only Shami had the courage to confront the bullying Pakistani. #IndvsPak #shami #Kohli #ICCT20WorldCup #RohithSharma pic.twitter.com/8ixvhbJadP
