Harbhajan Singh’s week on Twitter has been pretty interesting for both India and Pakistan as he has been the target of former Pakistan players and now journalists since India faced a humiliating defeat by Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
It’s all because Harbhajan had said that Pakistan should give India a walkover before their match because they can’t beat them. Shoaib Akhtar was the first to criticise him following the defeat.
While everything finished with some amusing discussion between the renowned bowlers, Mohammed Amir, former Pakistani bowler tweeted old footage of Bhajji giving up four sixes to former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi in a Test match. Harbhajan refused to back down, and the two got into intense online combat on Twitter.
After a Twitter battle with Mohammad Amir, the Indian spinner slammed a Pakistani journalist who tried to take pot digs at him first
As supporters from both nations rushed in to offer their support for their players as the Twitter feud between Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Amir continued, a Pakistani journalist reshared the footage of Singh being torn apart by Afridi.
While Singh was having a verbal spat with Amir, reminding him of his infamous days of accepting bribes to spot-fix, Pakistani journalist Iqra Nasir decided to jump into the fray with a video of Younis Khan hitting sixes against him in a Test match.
While uploading the video on Twitter, she remarked,
“For your reference Highly Educated Cricketer”
For your reference Highly Educated Cricketer 😂 @harbhajan_singh

It was obvious that Harbhajan Singh was not pleased after viewing that footage since it was one of his worst performances. He, who was also already irritated because of Amir, was enraged by Nasir’s remark and retaliated in front of millions of Indian and Pakistani fans.
The Turbanator responded with a witty video showing him and Zaheer Khan striking Shahid Afridi all around the ground during a Test match. Harbhajan wrote,
For ur reference anpad (illiterate) journalist.
In another tweet by quoting Iqra Nasir’s tweet, he said,
“Is anpad journlist ka muh sirf hagne k liya Khulta hai kya ? Get lost nakli journalist.”
It loosely translates, “Does this illiterate journalist’s mouth open only to sh*it? Get lost fake journalist”
Is anpad journlist ka muh sirf hagne k liya Khulta hai kya ? Get lost nakli journlist.. https://t.co/8qQLyKeA2A

The Cricket followers have been divided into two groups as a result of Bhajji’s this kind of reply
On the one hand, some individuals believe Singh is losing respect by speaking so harshly to a lady. These individuals argue that, regardless of what the other person says, an honourable Indian cricketer who is regarded as a role model for millions of Indians would never speak to a lady in such a disrespectful manner.
You are loosing respect after doing all this like kids… As an indian i never want any of our legendary player to go on this level😔😟
I think you are high rn please stay away from twitter for a while… otherwise you will feel guilty for yourself in the future

Bhajji’s fans, on the other side, said that, while he was perfectly correct, he should not engage in such arguments with these journalists since his status is far more than theirs, and by battling them, he is lowering his own name.
Bhaii You are very Respected Cricketer and a World Cup Winner This doesn’t you , Woh Toh hain Hi nangey log unko bolne do Yoh should not go to thier level 🙏🙏🙏

Singh’s feud with Amir was already escalating, but this remark from him has gotten Bhajji into even more trouble.
However, the question today is how much public abuse can a celebrity absorb before being permitted to retaliate with similar venom? Is it true that a person’s lack of popularity gives them the right to sling mud at another and expect no repercussions?
On microblogging sites, we’ve already seen how today’s online mob lynches anyone’s character in a matter of seconds based on their preferences and misleading facts. But how can this mob genuinely think that no one will retaliate?
There are lots of people who don’t give a damn about these troll armies but there are some people who easily get affected by these kinds of venomous trolling.
To everyone’s relief, this ruckus on the microblogging platform has subsided, and peace has returned.
