Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma is going through a lean patch in his career. The ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League hasn’t been a great one for Rohit. On Saturday, Rohit Sharma, who was celebrating his 35th birthday, was expected to play big innings for his team, however, the cricketer once again failed to make it big with the bat.
Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by five wickets in the 44th match of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This win was a much-needed win for the five-time champions after losing the first eight consecutive games. It certainly gave relief to Rohit Sharma and Co.
While chasing the target of 159 runs set by the Royals, Mumbai got off to a poor start. They lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the 3rd over. Rohit could manage to score only two runs in five balls before he miscued a sweep shot on the bowling of Ashwin.
As he was walking back to the pavilion, Rohit was looking visibly upset.
After Rohit’s dismissal, his wife Ritika Sajdeh was also captured on the camera and she looked visibly devastated
However, in one of the most heartwarming moments, after Rohit’s dismissal as Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi Narayanan rushed to Ritika Sajdeh in order to hug and console her.

On the other hand, it was a big wicket for Rajasthan Royals and thus Ashwin celebrated the dismissal with ecstasy. The heartwarming gesture from Prithi was indeed a good one. The video of the same has been going viral on the internet and has left everyone in awe.
After losing Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan cheaply, the onus was once again on Suryakumar Yadav to bail the side out of danger. The Mumbai batter played an amazing knock of 51 runs on a dual paced pitch to steer the run chase. He formed a partnership with Tilak Verma to take Mumbai Indians closer to victory. In the end, Tim David hit a few long ones to help Mumbai safely cross the finishing line. Everyone in the MI camp was cheerful after the first win. Ishan Kishan too expressed his happiness.
Rohit Sharma has been in poor form in IPL 2022. He has managed to score just 155 runs in 9 matches in IPL 2022 at a strike rate of 125. These numbers are very poor for the expectations which fans have from Rohit Sharma. He has also struggled to score even a single fifty-plus score in the first 9 matches of IPL 2022.
