On Thursday, Mumbai openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prithvi Shaw grabbed waves with their opposing efforts in the Ranji Trophy campaign 2021-2022 semi-finals. On Day 3 of the second semi-final of the Ranji Trophy at the Just Cricket Academy Ground, elite batsmen Shaw and Jaiswal led the Mumbai hitting arsenal, frustrating Uttar Pradesh’s strong fast bowler.
On Thursday, Prithvi Shaw shared two different Instagram stories in less than 9 hours (June 16). The 22-year-old began by posting a statement beside a photo of Shirdi Sai Baba. The quote which he shared, stated the line,
“Don’t give up, your miracle is on the way.”
Mumbai got off to a flying start thanks to Shaw’s striking prowess. Shaw’s accomplice, on the other hand, chose to be patient. Surprisingly, Jaiswal stayed undefeated on 0 after bowling more than 50 overs. In the Ranji semi-finals, Jaiswal needed 54 balls to get off the mark. Following the conclusion of the day’s game, Mumbai skipper Shaw trolled his starting partnership on Instagram with an awesome meme.
While Shaw is frequently compared to renowned batsman Virender Sehwag, Jaiswal does have his own ‘Dravid moment’ when he hoisted his bat after coming off to a good start. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) star hoisted his bat, as his colleagues in the dugout cheered him. On the online platform, the amusing episode became the focus of attention. Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on a 66-run combination in Mumbai’s second innings. Interestingly, Jaiswal did not hit a home run in this collaboration. Shaw racked up 64 runs on 71 pitches, with the other two being homers.
On the 54th delivery of his game, Jaiswal struck UP bowler Ankit Rajpoot for a distance, giving him his first run of the game. The entire Mumbai sideline erupted in applause for the 20-year-old. Some of the UP guys chipped in as well. Jaiswal also lifted his bat in thanks to his teammates.
Dravid got a round of applause from the stadium in Sydney throughout India’s 2008 tour of Australia, whenever the former Indian captain started his record on the 40th throw. Former Australian captain Steve Smith received the loudest applause of the day as he required 39 balls to get off the ground versus New Zealand in 2020.
Even opposition players were clapping for Yashasvi Jaiswal’s first run 😄

Shaw jokingly trolled his partner by sharing an Avengers meme on his Instagram story
Not withstanding a sluggish start, Jaiswal proceeded to play an outstanding second-innings innings, scoring 181 runs. After a tonne from Armaan Jaffer and a half-century from Shaw, Mumbai has a 650-run cushion.
