Bumrah Set for Comeback as MI Gear Up to Face RCB; Rohit Still Uncertain

IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians are heading into their second home game of the IPL 2025 season, taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium. The big talking point? Jasprit Bumrah is likely to return to the playing XI.

Bumrah Return on the Cards

After rejoining the MI squad, all signs point to Bumrah featuring in Tuesday’s clash. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that while Bumrah is available, they’ll make a final call after assessing his bowling fitness. If he makes the cut, expect him to slot in for Deepak Chahar.

In Bumrah’s absence, Ashwani Kumar has stepped up impressively, grabbing five wickets in just two games. But with a fully fit Bumrah, MI won’t think twice.

Rohit Still in Doubt

Rohit Sharma’s availability remains up in the air. He hasn’t fully recovered yet, and Jayawardene didn’t sound too confident during the pre-match presser. If Rohit sits out again, Will Jacks is expected to open alongside Ryan Rickelton.

Vignesh Puthur Might Feature

Youngster Vignesh Puthur could get his chance as MI’s impact player. Another possible inclusion is Raj Angad Bawa, who looks likely to keep his spot in the XI.
