Have you ever gone through moments that made you think, “oh damn, didn’t see that coming!” Well, if you are one of the 0.01% people who never had that moment, I’m sure this article will help you achieve that.
Coincidence and harmonic moments are perhaps not something very normal.
Here you go with the list of few very unexpected identical moments in cricket history:
1. Ganguly, Dhoni, Kohli, and their identical ODI scores
The fact that three of them have their highest ODI scores of 183 runs is surprising. Though it was still believable. But what’s more bizarre is, them being the Indian Captains as well. Also, the trio apparently holds the title of being the best captain team Indian got.
2. Nelson with a bang
“Nelson” word symbolizes the mathematical figure of ‘111.’ The figure is pretty common and seen one in the cricket scorecard. But the weird thing which happened is during the match of South Africa vs Australia.
On the third day of the test match, the host lacked ‘111’ runs to win the match. South Africa needed ‘111’ runs when the time was exactly 11:11 am on the 11th day of the year 2011.
This basically sums up the date to be 11/11/11. The nelson figure just snapped through the entire scenario.
3. Summing up the scores
Sachin Tendulkar, one of the best and a legendary players Indian Captain had. When he finished his Test match career, his total run score was 15,291 which included 21 centuries in it.
December 2013, a month after Tendulkar retired weird synchronicity happened, after Perth’s first innings during the test.
Michael and Alastair were playing their 10th test match for their respective nations. As soon as the first innings got over Alastair managed his run score to be 7955 with 25 hundred and Clarke had 7964 runs which included 25 tests.
By adding their runs it summed up to a score of 15,919 runs, which was just short of 2 runs from Sachin’s total in 200 tests. Thus it actually got proven that, if we add Michael and Alastair we’d get one Sachin.
4. Rohit, Sehwag and Sachin’s ODI double hundreds
Scoring double hundred in an ODI is itself not an easy thing to accomplish. But, our legendary men in blue, performed something that was even more extraordinary.
In 2010 Sachin Tendulkar and in 2011 Sehwag scored their maiden double hundred in an ODI.
What’s more shocking and mind fluttering is in 201, Rohit Sharma scored his second ODI double hundred against Sri Lanks at Eden Gardens. And they were victorious by scoring 153 runs.
5. Dennis Lillee and Ravichandran Ashwin’s 300th Test scalp turned out to be on the same day
Dennis was apparently the fastest cricketer to 300 test wickets during this time. But he saw that his record was broken off by the Indian off-spinner in November 2017. The fun fact is both the players picked up their 300th scalp on the very same date.
Dennis got done with his 300th victim on November 27, 1981. Apparently, Ashwin got done with his 300th victim on November 27th, 2017.
6. Dhoni’s against Pakistan
We all know that Dhoni did not have very much good luck during the start of his ODI career. With luck against Bangladesh, he scored his maiden ODI ton against Pakistan at Vizag 2005. Which apparently was a good turn to his career. He scored an amazing 148 and after that, he was promoted to bat at number 3.
Turns out, Dhoni scored his first century during a game against Pakistan. The thing which made people smile was that the score he had was exactly what he scored during the ODI, 2005.
7. RBC with their not so good winning rate
Royal Challengers Bangalore apparently registered the highest-ever team in total. However, they did manage to score 263 runs for 5 against Pune to create history.
But, exactly 4 years later, they created another history to be sloped down being the team with the lowest win rates. Like the team literally lost a match scoring just 49 against KKR during IPL 2017.
8. Australia’s 45 margin win
The first-ever test match was played between England and Australia back in 1877.
Australia however won the match by a margin of 45 runs. Exactly 100 test matches later, Australia and England had a game yet again. In that also, Australia won by 45 runs.
Cricket, as a sport, has always been unpredictable as the next ball can change the whole scenario. The gentlemen’s game, as we know, relies on numbers more than any other sport in the world.
