WATCH: MS Dhoni limps into hotel after explosive knock in CSK’s last-over win

IPL 2025: It was yet another game Chennai Super Kings looked like getting their second win of IPL 2025 but this time they owed it to MS Dhoni. The 43-year-old set back the clock in Match 30 against Lucknow Super Giants, scoring 26 runs off just 11 balls to clinch a thrilling last-over win over Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium.

But the celebrations came with a bit of worry. A video that’s now gone viral shows Dhoni limping through the hotel lobby in Lucknow after the match. Fans were quick to praise his grit but also expressed concern about a possible injury.

The CSK skipper didn’t look in any discomfort while batting. He paired with Shivam Dube in the bated final moments and closed out the game in trademark Dhoni style — with power, with composure, with surgical precision. He hit four boundaries, and a six as CSK needed it to bolster its position in the league.

At the post-match presentation, Dhoni admitted it was a hard-fought win.
“It’s good to win a game. When you play a tournament like this, you want to win games,” he said. “Unfortunately, the earlier matches didn’t go our way for whatever reason. There can be lots of reasons. But this one gives us confidence and helps us improve where we need to.”

Dhoni also pointed out the struggles CSK faced early in the match.
“We didn’t start well with the ball in the powerplay. And then our batting didn’t get the kind of start we were hoping for. Wickets kept falling at the wrong time,” he said.

He hinted that home conditions in Chennai might be affecting their rhythm: “The Chennai wicket is a bit on the slower side. We’ve actually batted better away from home this season.”

Whether the limp is something serious or just a niggle, fans and teammates alike will be hoping it’s nothing more than post-match fatigue.
