Shoaib Akhtar’s also recently reminded the caliber of Kohli by subtly countering Kapil Dev’s opinion
Recently, Shoaib Akhtar also reminded the whole world and especially the critics of Kohli about the gem of a player that he is. Akhtar emphasized how scoring 70 international hundreds in total is not a child’s play. On his youtube channel, Akhtar mentioned that “Kapil Dev is my senior and he has an opinion and it is fine to have an opinion. If Kapil Dev says, you still understand as he is a great cricketer. He has the right to air his opinion”.
But he also added that Virat’s current form should not dictate whether or not he deserves a place in playing for the national team. He is a gem and one should not doubt him ever.
He adds to his YouTube video that,
“As a Pakistani, why am I supporting Kohli? Well, he has scored 70 hundreds. Woh 70 sau khaala ke ghar mein ya candy crush khelte huye nahi banein hain. (Those 70 tons were not scored in his aunt’s backyard or while playing Candy Crush).”
Shoaib Akhtar’s heartfelt description of Virat Kohli in one word made him win every Netizen’s heart
This Q/A session was mostly based upon Akhtar’s beautiful journey, his story, and his life but soon it turned out to be something much more than that. During the interaction, a Twitter user and obvious cricket admirer asked him to describe India’s former captain Virat Kohli in just one word.

Interesting Shoaib was very quick in responding to this fan’s question. He described Virat Kohli as an absolute legend of the gentlemen’s game.
Legend already

Shoaib was in complete discomfort knowing the thought of dropping Kohli is even coming to somebody’s mind.
“How did you even imagine in your wildest dreams that Kohli can be dropped from the Indian team?” “Virat Kohli is finished? Ok, fair enough. Virat Kohli should be dropped? Agreed. Now when I hear these things, I laugh and tell people, ‘Virat has been the greatest batter in the world in the last 10 years.’
“Yes, he has had a couple of lean years, and even in those years, he has scored runs if not hundreds. Suddenly everyone getting up in arms against him, such a great player and a human being isn’t right” said Pakistani legend, Shoaib Akhtar.
The belief that Shoaib has in our legendary star is something we all should bear in ourselves too. Kohli will be back!
